Gu Ziqian (portrayed by Jacko Yuan Yao Fa) -Twenty four years old, open-hearted, carefree, has a strong sense of responsibility, willing to sacrifice for others.
Born in a middle-class Taiwan family, his father was a novelist, and his mother deeply loved him. But unfortunately this perfect picture faded as his mother died early. By then, he was only nine, and at a young age, he already learned to comprehend what others felt, and was used to having himself feel all the pain.
At a visit to his Hua Lian relatives, Ziqian and Zishan stayed at a hospital, meeting Ah Ying, and the three become good friends. Ziqian and Ying had very deep feelings for each other. In a complete accident, the note Ziqian left for Ying was carried away by the wind, and so the two lost connection. Eight years later, Ziqian went to Hong Kong to visit his grandparents, finally meeting Ying again, reopening the years of feelings that have unconsciously blossomed through the troubling experiences that they've both been through.
When Ying reached Taiwan, Ziqian realized that his younger brother had fallen in love with her. He was ready to quit, and from then on forget her, therefore escaping his own feelings. Who would have known, after receiving news of Ying's loss of memory due to a car accident, Ziqian is ready to go back. Wanting to escape, wanting to forget, yet it's impossible to stop loving her.
Xu Ying (portrayed by Guan Jian Ying) -Twenty years old, born from a poor family, possessing an unhappy childhood.
At a young age, she was a victim of the traditional Chinese son-oriented family, thus becoming introverted and lonely. Afterwards, knowing Ziqian and Zishan, she became affected by both, learning to be strong and able to smile through everything.
After she grew older, the persistent Ying became the support of the family. Enduring years of effort, Ying finally gets what she wants, saving enough money to go to Taiwan for college. But the day before leaving, Father and Brother bring her more trouble...
In Taiwan, Zishan is infatuated with her and Ziqian avoids her, letting the three-person relationship become stagnant. One day, in a traffic accident with Jiaxi, Ying loses her memory. Jiaxi loves Ying, and for his love gives up everything. The helpless Ying then reaches Ziqian once more... In the end choosing Jiaxi or Ziqian?
Gu Zishan (portrayed by Wu Huai Zhong) -Twenty years old, Ziqian's younger brother, born with a heart valve illness, introverted, shy, sensitive, likes music.
Family saw his weak health as a child, thus naming him "shan" (mountain), hoping he'd remain strong like the mountain. He attends the same uni-versity as Ying. To him it was love at first sight, opening up a determined pursuit. Upon discovering that his brother has also loved Ying, Zishan refuses to let his brother have his love, and becomes obdurate to use sincerity for a fair battle with his brother.
Gong Jiaxi (portrayed by Kenneth Tang Jun Xi) -Twenty three years old, son of a Taiwan business owner, brilliant and confident, clear minded and decisive, reasons that everything has a solution, including love. But when he meets his love, he gives up his philosophy; for the one he loves, he can unconditionally give up everything.
In an accident, he crashes into Ying. Jiaxi hurriedly takes her to the hospital, realizing that she has lost her memory. Overcome with guilt, he is determined to bring back her memory; for this, he postpones his wedding date again and again. Also for his love of Ying, he gives up his relationship with his father. For Ying, he can give up anything.
He Zhongmei (portrayed by Clair Qiu Qi Wen) -Twenty two years old, Jiaxi's fiancée, a rich girl, brilliant, smart, aggressive, the type of strong businesswoman.
After growing up, became Jiaxi's fiancée. Ying's appearance led to the postponement of her wedding, hurting her deeply. For the love of Jiaxi, she'd rather be hurt.
An Ting (portrayed by Ye An Ting) -Nineteen, open-hearted, vivacious, impulsive at times, very direct, as a waitress in the bar, love at first sight with Ziqian.
